Corrective Strategies for the Squat Gray Cook, CSCS
This interactive workshop will answer the questions; Are we screening and assessing the squat properly? Are we picking the correct starting position when we use the squat? What about pain? Are there alternate lifts to keep the legs strong when the squat is not an option? Its Gray's opinion that it is more important to correct the squat than to train the squat. That is not to say that there is no value or use for the squat programming. It simply means that not everyone needs to train the squat but most should possess the movement ability. Most use some form of squatting to train the lower body. Those that don’t use modifications like the leg press to supplement the lower body strength activity neglected when the squat is not part of training.
